Alumni Society Welcomes new Director
CNU welcomes Christie Chipps as the new Director of Alumni Relations. Christie was most recently the assistant director of alumni relations at Hiram College. She is a graduate of Bowling Green State University where she received her B.A. in Communications/Marketing. She later received her M.A. in Nonprofit Management from Case Western Reserve University.

CNU President to Lead Virginia Council of Presidents
Paul Trible has been elected to chair the Council of Presidents of Virginia's public four-year colleges and universities and community colleges.
New Director Takes Helm of International Programs
Connie Gianulis (cgianulis@cnu.edu) joins CNU as director of the newly created Office of International Initiatives and Fellowships (IIF). IIF will help facilitate more opportunities for students to travel abroad, and serves as a source of information, guidance and support to all students wishing to pursue study abroad. Connie was previously the director of International Academic Services at Mary Washington College (now University of Mary Washington) and has traveled extensively around the globe.
University Advancement Welcomes Director of Development for Athletics
Sarah Schmidt (sarah.schmidt@cnu.edu) joins the University Advancement team as the director of development for athletics. Sarah is a 2002 graduate of Washington and Lee University where she studied anthropology and journalism. She received her master’s degree from VCU in Sport Leadership-Administration. Sarah most recently worked with LanCon, a Dutch company committed to the exchange of knowledge between the European and American sports world.
Student Research in Dublin
Rising seniors Megan Tucker and Kristen Willett recently completed undergraduate research projects at the National Library of Ireland.
Dr. Tracey Schwarze, associate professor of English and director of the Alice B. Randall Writing Center, has been invited to submit her work to a peer-reviewed journal in Italy for a special issue on James Joyce and Victorian Culture. Read greetings from Dr. Schwarze about the Ireland trip.

CNU Professor Emeritus Dr. David Dooley died on August 1, 2005. Dave taught in the Department of Psychology for 30 years.
