Commencement
On May
10, CNU conferred 25 advanced and 450 undergraduate degrees.
Keynote speaker, Judge J. Harvie Wilkinson, U.S. Court of
Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, urged the graduates to make
their own paths and lead their own lives. Senior Class President
Cristin Toutsi presented $5,045 in gift and pledges as the
class gift to purchase interdisciplinary resource books
for the Captain
John Smith Library. The class will be recognized with
bookplates inside each book. Click for photos.
Technology
and the Iraq War
The Southeastern
Virginia Electronic Commerce Forum hosts a special military
and technology talk on June 12 at CNU. The Utilization of
Technology in the Iraq War by Brigadier General William
T. Lord.

Coach John Harvell, '92, led the Captains
to their highest ranking ever in the final American
Baseball Coaches Association NCAA Division III poll, ranked
second behind national champion Chapman.

Navigator
Society Members Honored at Luncheon
At
a luncheon on April 23, new members of the Navigator
Society, which recognizes donors who have
included the University in their estate plans
or established endowed funds at CNU, were inducted
into membership. Keynote speaker for the event,
Dr. Phillip Hamilton of the History Department
discussed his newly published book, “The
Making and Unmaking of A Revolutionary Family—The
Tuckers of Virginia.”
Alumni
Society Recognizes Distinguished Alumnus of the
Year – Dr. Timothy J. Eichenbrenner, Class
of 1974.
Dr.
Eichenbrenner, a pediatrician practicing in
Charlotte, NC, will receive the honor of Distinguished
Alumnus at the Dessert
and Champagne reception on June 14. A Hampton
native, he graduated from CNU with a BS in Biology.
He went on to receive an MS from Western Kentucky
and his MD from EVMS.
