Thinking about graduate school?
The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation is currently accepting applications for its graduate scholarships. The CNU committee will forward two nominations to the Foundation. To apply, contact Dr. Andrew Velkey at (757) 594-7927. The deadline is March 25, 2005.
With deepest sympathy
Jonathan “Jonny” Besecker,
a junior, died while on an academic trip to Belgium that included 20 students
and three faculty members last week. The entire University community is
diminished by Jonny’s
death.

is underway. Current
dues-paying Alumni Society members are asked to cast their votes

Live from New York … it’s the New Alumni and Class of 2005 Party
The Alumni Society invites the Classes of 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2005 to celebrate at the New Alumni and Senior Class Party on April 8 at 7 pm. Enjoy dancing, a comedy show, food, drinks and other entertainment. The event is sponsored by the Virginia Educators Credit Union.

Is insurance really necessary?
The Alumni Society and Liberty Mutual have
teamed up to offer a seminar on the benefits of home, auto and renter’s insurance on March 15 at 7 p.m. in Potomac North. The seminar is open CNU community. In addition, Michael Koontz, benefits manager for Ferguson Enterprises will discuss health insurance information. For more information

The softball team christened its new facility Tuesday afternoon by splitting a double-header with VA Wesleyan, losing the opener 6-4 and bouncing back to take the night-cap, 5-4 in five innings.
CNU baseball swept a double header from Alma (MI), 6-1 and 15-0, at the Gene Cusic Classic on March 1.
For the second time in as many years, the CNU men's basketball team was defeated in the quarterfinals of the USA South Conference Tournament to the same team that defeated the Captains last season, NC Wesleyan, 82-69, on February 26.
The
USA South selected CNU women’s
basketball players, Candace Bryant and Samantha
Davis, to receive Second Team All-Conference honors.
