CNU received noteworthy recognition from the Richmond Times-Dispatch on Monday, October 4, with a story highlighting its recent growth and development.

Talk of the Towne
The School of Business has named TowneBank founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer G. Robert Aston, Jr., as the 2nd Annual Entrepreneur-In-Residence. Aston visits campus on October 24 to meet with students, faculty and community leaders. The event is open to the public.  

Embedded in Iraq
Stephanie Heinatz '02, staff writer for the Daily Press (Newport News) continues to follow an Army unit out of Ft. Eustis during its deployment to Iraq. Read her most recent reports from the front lines.

Volleyball
The volleyball team swept N. C. Wesleyan 3-0 Tuesday night.

Football
Football is now 2-2 overall and 0-1 in the USA South after a disappointing loss to Shenandoah last weekend. The Captains take on Greensboro at home this Saturday.
Tickets are available.

Soccer
The women's soccer team remained fifth in this week's National Soccer Coaches Association of America's South Region poll.

Points of Entry wins travel writing award
A Rwandan war travel memoir published in Points of Entry, a professional journal housed in Christopher Newport University's English department, has won a gold award and $500 cash prize from the Society of American Travel Writers.

TheaterCNU took home three awards in the 2004 Port Folio Awards for Theatrical Achievement.
